Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role in “Full House,” shares her favorite fitness and wellness tips for the summer.
Candace believes that summer is the perfect time to boost your fitness routine. She emphasizes the benefits of moving outdoors.
“Get out and get moving,” Candace advises. “The weather is usually good, and being outside is better than a gym treadmill. Fresh air and nature can make a big difference. After your walk or jog, take off your shoes, put your feet in the grass, and get grounded. These simple things are amazing for overall health.”
To increase her daily steps, Candace parks farther away in parking lots and walks more.
Drinking plenty of water is another essential tip from Candace.
“We hear it all the time, but it’s because it works,” she says. “Staying hydrated is crucial, especially in summer. I also add an electrolyte to my water, which helps a lot.”
Candace also stresses the importance of skin care during the summer.
“It’s important because we’re outside more often,” she explains. “Find a high-quality mineral sunscreen for your face. I love the sun and getting vitamin D, but I’m prone to sun spots, so I use sunscreen and wear a hat when I’m outside for long periods.”
While Candace tries to maintain her health year-round, she steps it up in the summer. She has been open about her health journey, including her past struggle with an eating disorder.
“My relationship with food and fitness has been an ongoing journey,” she told Fox News Digital in 2020. “I had an eating disorder in my early 20s, and it’s something I still think about. The biggest key for me was understanding and listening to my body. I feel so much better when I make good choices.”
Candace doesn’t believe in strict dieting. “I eat everything, but in small portions and moderation. I love cheat days and enjoy my favorite treats like chips, guacamole, and ice cream.”
Candace admitted she didn’t always enjoy working out.
“I didn’t like working out as a kid or a young teen,” she said. “I found the joy of fitness in my 30s because I found activities I liked and people I enjoyed doing them with.”
